So I've run into this problem:

Some Screenshots From Yesterday
This is actually pretty exciting for me. Mainly because I've been having so many problems with this project... I'm not even close to being done and I still have to render it out (which apparently has been causing some problems for some people).
Well I have to go to work now.

I'm Trying Here...
But nothing is working. I emailed Skylar (don't shoot me if I spelled that wrong), and he said to make the blacklambert not black but a dark grey instead. So I did. He also said to make sure that there was geometry intersecting the hand mesh. There is. So I hope that this is right.

Top view to show that I do have geometry intersecting the hand mesh.

I Wish I Could
"But I can't always keep the promises I've kept."
My renders don't look right. And it doesn't help that nothing is really working for me at this point. :(
2:15pm - Computer crashes.
2:45pm - Yeah, this isn't working. On the left is what it's supposed to look like and on the right is what I'm stuck with. Grrrrrrrrr. -growls at computer screen-

3:10pm - Is it supposed to look like this? What's going on? I don't even know.
3:30pm - What the heck, man.

You and Me
"And all of the people with nothing to do, nothing to lose..."
UV mapped the "tree" and "shrubs"....so it doesn't look like the Digital Tutor stuff because, well...mine aren't actual trees and bushes....
BUT WHATEVER!!
Close enough!

OooooOOOOOooooOOOoooo
"Bum da ba dum bum da ba dum bum dah dah dah daaaahhhh..."
So I feel like I'm finally getting this down after manipulating the living shenanigans out of this stupid file.
LOOK WHAT I'VE GOT ON THE SAME DAGUM RENDER LAYER!?!?!
YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors
"They're dead. They're freaking dead."
So, this is becoming severely problematic. Same as before, the left side is my file and the right side is the Digital Tutors version. Help. This isn't working at all the way it's supposed to. I do regret deleting the stupid Raw Footage images and will continue to regret doing so every second of my life.
I'm so far behind, I think I'm first.
Oi With the Poodles
So the hand won't import. I can import the entire hologram scene into the hand scene, but then I lose all sorts of stuff. Like the animation. Frames. Muse. Etc.
I had to go through and find a file that was working, because I kept getting this
With the retarded table top in the background when the thing would render out. So I deleted it. Will I regret this later on? Most likely.
I still think that this is way beyond this class' skill level.
My render is on the left side and on the right side you'll find what it's supposed to look like. -_- Problems.

This doesn't look right...
This isn't looking right and the hand won't import in. Ugh. Do not like. Do not like at all.

Trees and Hands
This project is really annoying me. I get the general idea of it, but I can't produce the same thing as the Digital Tutors accent guy because 1) he doesn't give the lesson files so that when my files go all wonky I have nothing to fall back on and 2) he goes way too fast.
I found some little tree models, but since all that is required is cubes and a rectangle and a triangle, I need to replace trees with chicks and bricks and clocks and blocks, sir. Which means I have to go back a couple of files because I had to import hologram base into the tree file because the hologram file was being a jerk.
Interested to know how much I have lost or have to re-do.
I still have to model and animate the hand, which apparently is going to give me a bit of trouble (just going off of other people's problems). Happy happy joy joy.
So yeah, this is why I'm behind :(

Out of the Frying Pan
...and into the fire.
I thought that this next project would be somewhat easier, but it doesn't help that the Digital Tutors guy doesn't realize he's teaching and not, oh, showing off. -_-
But hey look, pictures. I've got the grass texture stuff on it, along with the LCD stuff.
There really is only so much that my brain can take of this stuff in one sitting. I've been here since 6:30 working on stuff like this. That's almost three hours. Ask anyone - Kayla doesn't sit still very often. If I am, I'm really engaged in whatever it is I'm working on, it's due the next day, OR it's World of Warcraft :3
BTW THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE POSTED LAST WEEK.
DUMB INTERNET IS DUMB.

Holograms are Only Cool...
...if I'm not the one having to do them.
So this next tutorial project that we're doing is killing me. Not only did Digital Tutors not supply us with everything needed to complete said tutorial, it's not all that entertaining and all that jazz.
I'm not ready for this level of stuff.
Hypershade full of things that I'm hoping are right:

-evil cackle-
I finished! I finished I finished I finished!! It doesn't look much like it's 'supposed to' BUT IT IS FINISHED!!!
And now I'm waiting for it to render out into a movie so that I can put it here.
This didn't turn out as smoothly as I had hoped. So I'm going to Screencast to save the day.
Or not...because Screencast isn't wanting to work for me.
TO BE CONTINUED.

Compositing the Head
So it's giving me all kinds of problems. So I'm just getting through the videos and using the Digital Tutors files because that's all I'm willing to deal with right now. This is getting too ridiculous and I don't have time for any of these shenanigans.
Batch Rendering in Maya
It's sucking out my soul.
Or it would. If I had a soul.
Messed something up the first go-round so I have to re-render everything. Or I could just use the Digital Tutor files... Ugh I don't know.
